Reliquaries
Historically, reliquaries are containers used to preserve the remains of an individual, and often are illustrative in nature. Having thoroughly researched my family’s past, whether through taped interviews of elderly members or digging through generations of old and torn documents, I investigated the lost biographies of those who had died long ago; and those who were in the process of leaving this earth. With my work I attempt to honor the struggle with the fragility of my relationships with family so that we, as a people, do not forget how to remember.
